Bengaluru: BJP state president B Y Vijayendra has demanded strict police action following an alleged incident in which knives and other weapons were delivered to the residence of Legislative Council Opposition Leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy through online delivery platform Blinkit.
Vijayendra, accompanied by a delegation of senior BJP leaders, met Bengaluru City Police Commissioner and submitted a formal complaint seeking an impartial investigation.
Alleging the involvement of the Congress-affiliated National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Vijayendra accused the ruling party of allowing law and order to deteriorate in the state. He also raised questions about the possible involvement of senior state government leaders, including the chief minister and home minister, and demanded a probe free from political interference.

Questioning the safety of ordinary citizens, he said the alleged incident was a matter of serious concern, particularly as the residence of a senior elected representative had been targeted.
Vijayendra said the alleged misuse of online delivery platforms to create fear around elected representatives’ homes posed a threat to public order and democratic values.
He asserted that the BJP would not be intimidated by threats and would continue its campaign to protect democratic principles and public safety.
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R Ashoka and MLAs S R Vishwanath, M Krishnappa, K Gopalaiah, Byrathi Basavaraj, Munirathna and C K Ramamurthy were among those who accompanied Vijayendra during the meeting.
