Dhanwapur: In Gurugram, a tragic incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 5 p.m. near the Dhanwapur village railway crossing, where an under-construction underpass collapsed. Eight workers were buried under the collapsed structure, leading to one fatality and injuries to two others.
The deceased laborer was identified as 21-year-old Guddu, while the other eight workers hailed from Sambhal and Badaun in Uttar Pradesh.
Rescue efforts were promptly initiated, and a crane was used to pull out the workers from the debris on the site. The injured workers were immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The incident caused a stir among the workers, who accused the contractor of alleged negligence, resulting in a ruckus at the site for several hours.
Authorities are investigating the matter to determine the actual cause of the mishap. One theory suggests that the shuttering used to support the structure’s entry might have been weak, leading to the collapse. Further details are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
