
Amritsar: In a significant operation, the Punjab Police successfully dismantled a trans-border smuggling ring and confiscated a substantial quantity of heroin weighing 15 kilograms. The apprehended smuggler has been identified as Harpreet Singh, hailing from Chohla Sahib but presently residing in Amritsar. Alongside the heroin seizure, law enforcement also impounded the vehicle in which Singh was traveling.
Director General of Police (DGP) Yadav revealed that the operation was initiated based on intelligence received from the village-level defense committee. The Amritsar Rural Police executed an intelligence-driven mission within the Kathunangal police station jurisdiction, culminating in the arrest of Harpreet Singh. The heroin consignment was discovered concealed within a sack.
Furthermore, the police have identified and named four associates of the arrested individual. These associates are Gagandeep Singh, Rahul Singh, Harpreet Singh (known as Happy Jatt), and Gagandeep Singh, all of whom have been implicated in the ongoing investigation.
