Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has decided to transfer the Udupi washroom video case to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). In this case, three female students who were enrolled in an optometry course at Netrajyothi Paramedical College in Udupi allegedly recorded a fellow student in the restroom.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah acknowledged the gravity of the situation and mentioned that an allegation had arisen concerning the filming of a video within the restroom of a private college in Udupi. Given the sensitivity of the matter, the government has deemed it appropriate to entrust the investigation to the CID. Siddaramaiah stated, “The Udupi secret video recording case has become a sensitive issue and hence we have handed over the case to CID for investigation.”
The involvement of the CID aims to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.
