
Chandrayaan-3 Triumph: Karnataka’s Chief Minister Extends Felicitations to ISRO Chief; Deputy CM Commends Team Effort
Bengaluru: In a monumental achievement, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of Karnataka conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the head of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) for the resounding success of Chandrayaan-3. He lauded the Chandrayaan-3 mission as a long-cherished aspiration of the nation, one that the dedicated scientists at ISRO have effectively transformed into reality.
Siddaramaiah emphasized the obligation to honor the legacy of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who played a pivotal role in nurturing and supporting the nascent space science endeavors. The unwavering commitment of the nation’s scientists over the decades has borne remarkable fruit. Siddaramaiah extended his felicitations to the entire team behind this extraordinary accomplishment, highlighting how India’s triumph in this mission has elevated it to the ranks of leading spacefaring nations.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar made a personal visit to the ISRO Headquarters to extend his congratulations to the team, including ISRO Chairman S. Somnath. Shivakumar not only conveyed his appreciation but also honored Somnath, U.R. Rao Space Centre Director Shankaran, Project Director Veeramuttu, Assistant Project Director Kalpana, and Machine Management Director Shreekanth by adorning them with traditional Mysuru headgear.
Shivakumar underlined the visionary initiatives of space pioneer Vikram Sarabhai and former Prime Minister Nehru, who laid the groundwork for ISRO’s establishment. The seed planted during that era has now grown into a towering tree, symbolizing the organization’s remarkable growth and achievements.
Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressed his exultation through the microblogging platform X, celebrating ISRO’s monumental achievement in placing India’s flag on the Moon. He underscored India’s unique position as the fourth country to achieve this feat and the very first to successfully land on the lunar South Pole. Bommai applauded the prowess of the nation’s space scientists and credited Bharat’s unwavering determination and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s steadfast leadership for this success.
Bommai highlighted the immense pride felt by the entire Indian populace, with special recognition for the seven crore Kannadigas. He pointed out that the genesis of Chandrayaan-3 occurred on the soil of Karnataka, underscoring the state’s integral role in this achievement.
