
A tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning in Iran, resulting in the collapse of buildings and causing significant casualties. As per the report from Xinhua news agency, three people lost their lives, and eleven others were injured in the incident.
The catastrophe took place during the demolition of an “unsafe” building in District 19, supervised by Tehran Municipality staff, with support from provincial police forces. The demolition of this building led to the collapse of five adjacent structures, all of which were found to be non-compliant with safety requirements.
Among those trapped under the debris were four police officers and two municipality staffers. Rescue teams, equipped with cranes and debris removal equipment, immediately rushed to the scene and commenced their efforts to save the victims. So far, four individuals have been successfully rescued from the rubble.
