Patna: A total of 59 individuals have been apprehended in connection with the unrest that unfolded during the Mahaviri march. These suspects were allegedly engaged in physical altercations during the march. Among the accusations, some are implicated in inciting individuals to target a specific community.
Officials have indicated that the current situation in both districts has returned to a state of normalcy.
The state’s home ministry has already enacted a two-day suspension of Internet services, beginning from 2 p.m. on Tuesday and extending until 2 p.m. on Thursday, as per directives from the district administration.
The decision was made by the home department based on recommendations from the district magistrate and superintendent of police of Bagaha and Motihari. An incident on Nagpanchami resulted in over 12 individuals sustaining injuries due to a violent clash between two communities.
A similar situation occurred during the Mahaviri march, during which a faction protested against the Mahaviri Akhara, culminating in confrontations.
East Champaran district faced analogous disturbances, with clashes unfolding in Mehsi and Kalyanpur village. Notably, among the injured parties, two were police personnel and one was a member of the media.
