
Srinagar: The Indian Army and local police successfully thwarted an infiltration bid by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists. According to a statement from Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Colonel Suneel Bartwal, the incident occurred in Poonch district during a joint operation conducted in the early hours of August 6-7.
As the infiltrators attempted to cross the Line of Control (LoC), the joint teams of army and police promptly engaged them. One of the terrorists was neutralized immediately, while the other tried to escape back to the LoC. However, the security forces managed to intercept and hit the second terrorist, causing him to fall near the LoC.
The operation is still ongoing, as the security forces maintain their vigilance in the region. Their quick and efficient response has successfully prevented the infiltration attempt, ensuring the safety and security of the area.
