New Delhi: Reports suggest that a special session of Parliament might convene in the newly constructed Parliament building. According to insider information, the first day of this special session is slated for September 18, and during that day, parliamentary proceedings in both Houses will commence in the traditional old Parliament building, as was the practice in the past. However, starting from the second day, September 19, the proceedings in both Houses are likely to shift to the new Parliament building.
While no official announcement has been issued regarding this arrangement, sources indicate that the proposal is being given serious consideration. It’s noteworthy that the Modi government has called for this special session during the Amrit Kaal period. The session is scheduled to have five sittings, spanning from September 18 to 22. This session will mark the 13th gathering of the 17th Lok Sabha. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi has expressed his anticipation for meaningful discussions and debates in Parliament during this particular session.
