Vijayawada: A devastating fire ravaged through a TVS showroom and warehouse in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the destruction of approximately 300 two-wheelers. Thankfully, no casualties were reported from the incident, which is believed to have been sparked by a short circuit.
The fire ignited in the early hours of Thursday morning within the KP Nagar region, situated off the Chennai-Kolkata national highway. Originating on the showroom’s first floor, the flames quickly spread to the adjacent warehouse. Swift action was taken as security personnel promptly notified the fire services, prompting the dispatch of at least five fire engines to the location.
The fire’s rapid propagation was attributed to the pre-fabricated nature of the structures. The presence of electric two-wheelers within the warehouse exacerbated the situation, contributing to the fire’s escalation.
Given that the showroom, warehouse, and service center shared the same premises, a considerable number of two-wheelers were housed in the affected area. This establishment served as a vital hub for TVS vehicles within the region of Vijayawada and the greater United Krishna district.
Law enforcement has initiated a case and commenced investigations. Preliminary findings suggest that a short circuit may have occurred during the charging of electric two-wheelers. The proprietor of the showroom is believed to have suffered an estimated loss of Rs 15 crore as a result of this tragic incident.
