Microsoft is preparing to introduce third-party browser support for its AI-powered Bing search engine. The company has announced this move in a blog post, stating that users will soon be able to experience the new AI-enhanced Bing features in third-party browsers on both web and mobile platforms.
The AI-powered Bing brings several advanced features, such as summarized answers and image generation, to the search experience. Microsoft is excited about expanding the reach of these features to a broader audience. While users will be able to utilize AI Bing in their preferred browser, Microsoft does recommend using it in their own Microsoft Edge browser for enhanced features like longer conversations and chat history integration.
The AI-powered Bing was initially launched in February, and since then, it has facilitated over 1 billion chats and generated more than 750 million images through its services. Microsoft aims to continue improving and expanding its capabilities in the coming months.
In addition to this development, last month, Microsoft introduced a ‘voice chat’ feature for Bing Chat on desktops. This feature allows users to communicate with the AI chatbot by clicking on a microphone icon in the Bing Chat box. Currently supporting languages such as English, Japanese, French, German, and Mandarin, Microsoft intends to add more languages to this feature in the near future.
