
New Delhi: The Delhi Police successfully recovered over 200 snatched mobile phones in just 15 days as part of a nation-wide drive to combat mobile phone theft. The initiative was launched by the Shahdara district police on July 15.
After conducting technical analysis, the police identified around 250 stolen and snatched mobile phones that were active in different parts of India, including Delhi. To retrieve these devices, 16 teams from various police stations within the Shahdara district were formed and deployed for the task.
Thanks to their efforts, 205 stolen, snatched, and robbed phones were recovered during the operation. Additionally, the police arrested 15 robbers/snatchers and apprehended more than 162 individuals involved in these crimes.
As a result of the successful recovery operation, the mobile phones were returned to their rightful owners. The distribution of the recovered phones to their actual owners took place on a Saturday. Out of the recovered devices, 19 were traced to Bihar, seven to West Bengal, 32 to UP-West, 12 to UP-East, five to Haryana, and 130 to various locations within Delhi/NCR, as confirmed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena.
